How to Apply for a Peleza Bolt Background Check

The process is quick, easy, and fully online. Here’s how it works:

  1. Open your browser (we recommend Chrome or Opera).

  2. Go to www.peleza.com/bolt.

  3. Fill in your details:

  • Full Name (as it appears on your ID)
  • Select type of check (DL Check or Criminal Check)
  • Phone number (ensure it’s correct for SMS notifications)
  • Email address
  • National ID number
  • M-Pesa number that will make payment

  1. Upload the required documents:

    • A clear copy of your National ID

    • A selfie photo

    • For Criminal Check: select Invoice (Bill Reference Number + Date) OR Police Clearance Certificate, then upload the correct file.

  2. Read and accept the Consent Form and Terms & Conditions.

  3. Click Submit Application.

  4. Confirm your M-Pesa number and click Pay. You’ll receive a prompt on your phone to pay:

    • DL Check: KES 250

    • Criminal Check: KES 650

  5. Enter your M-Pesa PIN to confirm payment.

You’ll then see a success message with your Application Number. Use this number if you need to follow up.

When to Expect Your Results

  • DL Check: Processed instantly. Please note that interim driver’s licenses cannot be used for this report. If you only have an interim DL, kindly visit NTSA to complete your biometrics and have your details officially captured before applying.

  • Criminal Check: Within 12–24 hours (weekdays only).

Once your report is ready, you’ll get an SMS with a download link. Open the link, download the PDF report, and upload it directly to your Bolt driver app.
